Punjabi Singer Diljit Dosanjh Demands Justice for Anti-Drug Activist Jhota's Family

Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has described anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota as a martyr and demanded justice for his family.

Mr. Dosanjh shared a picture of Jhota on his Instagram handle on Sunday, describing him as Shaheed Parvinder Singh. He said the entire Punjab is with the family in this hour of grief and that the family should get justice.

Jhota was shot dead in Punjab's Mansa last week. The incident took place while he was hosting a Facebook Live inside a medical store in a busy marketplace. He was questioning the store owner, Ashwani Kumar, for selling addictive drugs to an elderly man when Kumar opened fire at him.

Diljit Dosanjh's statement has highlighted the widespread outrage and demand for justice in the wake of Jhota's murder.
