Bihar Assembly Elections 2025: Two-Phase Polls on November 6 and 11; Full Schedule, and Key Details Announced
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the full schedule for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. The polls will be held in two phases on November 6 and November 11 to elect 243 members of the state assembly. This year’s election will feature over 2,600 candidates.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has officially released the complete schedule for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, ending weeks of anticipation. Unlike previous elections, the polls will be conducted in two phases instead of three, a decision influenced by major political parties to avoid overlapping with the festive season.
The first phase of voting will take place on November 6, covering 121 assembly constituencies, while the second phase will be held on November 11, covering the remaining 122 constituencies. The term of the current Bihar Legislative Assembly ends on November 22, 2025.
Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar announced that there are 7.42 crore registered voters in the state, including 3.92 crore men and 3.5 crore women, as per the final electoral rolls released after the Special Intensive Revision. Voting will be conducted across 90,712 polling booths, averaging 818 voters per booth, to ensure better crowd management and accessibility.
A total of 2,616 candidates will contest across both phases. To enhance transparency, webcasting will be done from all polling booths, and voters will be required to deposit their mobile phones before entering polling rooms.
