Rohit Sharma Awarded Padma Shri by President Droupadi Murmu

Former Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma was conferred the prestigious Padma Shri, India's fourth-highest civilian award, by Droupadi Murmu during the Padma Awards 2026 ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The honour recognizes Rohit's immense contribution to Indian cricket, including his leadership in India's ICC T20 World Cup 2024 triumph and his remarkable achievements as one of the country's most successful batters. Interestingly, the award was presented on June 23, the same date on which Rohit made his international debut for India in 2007.
